We hunt a lot of big game here on our ranch and I can always tell when my Dad shoots as I hear the large meplat of this bullet strike the animal before the shot! My Dad has spent lifetime hunting with the 30-30 Winchester and this bullet was designed to fill the needs of that cartridge with its long step/throat/leade while providing a maximum meplat for quick kills. We have personally used this bullet on antelope, mule deer, whitetails, hundreds of feral hogs and it will not disappoint you!

The step and throat of the 30-30 Win can vary especially in light of the number of manufacturers cutting this cartridge across the years and the chamber wear older rifles might have. Seat this bullet just off the lands. The long, gentle nose profile of this design lends itself to crimping on the ogive especially when the Lee Factory Crimp Die is used.

In addition to the 30-30 Win, I use this bullet with my 30-30 Ackley Improved and 308 Marlin Express. Depending on the rifle, I size the bullet .309", .310" or .311".
